Pros

  • The graphics and good, and the controls are smooth, particularly given the amount of variation within how you move.
  • The ease of the controls makes it easy for you to learn, play, and master.
  • The scenery varies and can be very interesting. This gets even more impressive when you consider that the game is almost three years old.
  • The game is free on Android devices.

Cons

  • While the game does what it is programmed to do well, more options would add some variety and creativity to the game. It seems a bit one-note at times.
  • The amount of enemies you face is relatively small, and this can get very repetitive, very quickly.

Prince Battle: Persia of Forgotten Sands is a mobile version of Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands. The game takes many of the popular game's features and adopts them for your phone. Prince Battle is an action-adventure game that takes place within the popular Prince of Persia universe.

In the game, you play as the Prince, fighting enemies and attempting to clear stages as you progress through the game. All of this allows you to complete questions, gain prizes, and move on to more complicated missions. As such, the game has a very clear sense of progression and incentivizes further progress. There are many elements of parkour and platforming in this game, and the movements vary, requiring walking, running, and climbing.

The game's graphics are very strong for a mobile game, and the controls come with multiple options, allowing you to control the main character in a way that you prefer and that best suits your needs. Battling enemies is an interesting experience, and while not perfect, it generally gives you an enjoyable time. It is truly satisfying to land that perfect sword hit to your enemies' faces.

The biggest problem with these battles are that your fingers can get in the way of the game's graphics, particularly if you are playing on a smaller screen. Of course, this is a problem that is found in many action-adventure games, not just Prince Battle. As such, more experienced mobile players will likely be used to this control scheme, and able to adjust their play accordingly.

The game operates as a 3D side scroller. The camera will smoothly move in and out as the action requires, although the ability to customize the camera movement is lacking, and this can create moments of frustration.

This version of the game is the one found for Androids. Other versions exist, including for the PlayStation 3, XBox 360, Wii, Windows, Nintendo DS, and PlayStation Portable. You can download the Android version at no cost.
